Start a Pathway Toward an Associate of Science Degree Biology Field of Study
The Biology Field of Study (FOS) at SWTX prepares students who are interested in science and transferring to a university.
The Associate of Science degree Biology FOS includes curriculum approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The Biology FOS includes 24 lower-division semester credit hours that are fully transferable to other Texas public colleges and universities.
Students should always consult with an academic or Science faculty advisor regarding transfer to a specific college or university. In addition, students should consult with an advisor at the Texas college or university to which they are transferring for additional information.
To receive an Associate of Science Degree Biology FOS, the student must make a minimum grade of C in all required core courses and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

An Associate of Science Degree from Southwest Texas College provides the foundation for transfer to a university.
